3. ABSTRACT
It is radical and naïve to assume that academic achievement references one factor to
matter. This study sought to find relationship between home environment and academic
achievement of university student. Data was collected from 103 year-two students in bachelor’s program of International Studies at Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The result indicated that there was positive statistical significance of relationship between home environment and academic achievement among N = 103 respondents in which p = .000. More, home environment variables such as parental encouragement, parental income, familial closeness, learning facilities, parenting educational status, and parenting style
had positive relationship with academic achievement at value of significance p = .002; .006;.008; .010; .016; & .029 respectively, whereas family size and permissiveness did not have any significant relationship with academic achievement as p = .765; & .153 respectively.
