3. Abstract
Colored-trash bin is a term used to describe special trash bins that categorize trash into different types of bins according to the different types of waste. This study accounts for the awareness and practices of students at the Institute of Foreign Languages toward colored-trash bins which have been introduced recently. Questionnaire materials to which among ten IFL’s student per class, one class per department (Department of International Studies and Department of English), 4 year levels from all three shifts—morning, afternoon, and evening were surveyed. The questionnaires consist of 22 questions examine how IFL’s students know, aware, practice and especially their perceptions on the colored-trash bins. Among overall students of IFL, 240 students were randomly selected to conduct the survey.
Theoretically, this study sample has been analyzed through Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to interpret the information. Among the overall respondents, majority of whom know about the colored-trash bins at IFL; however they are still not so clear about the correct usage of colored-trash bins. Vitally, the respondents also illustrate the inadequate amount of colored-trash bins placing around the campus which discourage the students to use the bins.
