Human Rights, Potential Cambodia’s Economy Sectors in The Future, Development Aids and Official Deve

Introduction

Aftermath of nearly 3 decade war has just ended in 1998; it pushed Cambodia became a least developing country in the world. There are many things that Cambodia has to accomplish, in terms of achieving Millennium Development Goals, in order to challenge other countries both in the region and in the world. Along with over 14 million people, there are many hot issues needing to solve in urgent. Human right is the most concern issue in Cambodia even it is considered much better than the previous years, but it is needed to improved and strengthened. Cambodia has become a highly dependent-aid country since the United Nations Peacekeeping in 1993. Besides aid from the UN, there are hundreds of Non Governmental Organizations and Civil Society Organizations have been working actively with the government, in the hope of helping Cambodia to achieve National Strategic Development Plans and Millennium Development Goals.
On the other hand, Cambodia is expected to have rapid economic growth in the future. Cambodia has a lot of natural resources, such as oil and gas, diamond, iron, gold, and just namely a few. What is more, Cambodia has potential agricultural product, which contributed about 30 percent of GDP in 2006. Furthermore, Garment sector has become a very significant sector to Cambodia economic growth, which shared about 16 percent of GDP.
In this research paper, it highlights some basic information about hot issues, mainly about human rights issues in Cambodia. Also, it gives some clues of what potential resources are pushing Cambodia’s economic growth increase. Last but not least, it illustrates some impacts of the effectiveness of development aids in Cambodia. Finally, these general views hopefully share what Cambodia has done and what Cambodia is expecting to do in the future.
