Abstract

By looking on the Cambodia’s economic condition after gaining independence, this paper will show up the Cambodia’s economic under the peacetime of prince Sihannouk (1953-1970), as well as Cambodia’s economic under the Khmer Rouge (1975-1979). Furthermore, this paper will show the sectors that contribute to the rapid economic growth in Cambodia in the 21st century. This paper also analyses whether or not the Royal Government of Cambodia can imitate the Korea’s development experience, and analyses on whether the Korea’s development experience is the suitable one for Cambodia, also looks for the same result as the Republic of Korea nowadays. Noticing the relationship between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Cambodia are even greater and greater, and the investment from the Republic of Korea into the Kingdom of Cambodia is the great increasing in the 21st century, as well as the trade deficit of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia. Also provide the statistic data as the hypotheses about the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Cambodia and the trade deficit of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia.
